I’ll be watching with interest as we’ve booked a cruise to go in May!

@BlueSeagull I took my DM with P&O in early May. Glorious weather - but a few years ago. One huge advantage of going early is lack of other cruise ships so you are handy for wandering off the ship. Fairly good excursions available bit pricy.

We are going in July this summer on a much smaller ship - 100 passengers. Sailing from Aberdeen. Much more expensive but we are going further north than most ships go. My friend loved Hurtigruten. A different experience again and you will see a lot.

On balance any bigger ship is fine - if that’s what you want. They are relatively cheap but get a balcony. The smaller boats cost a lot more but excursions for ours are included. Hurtugruten - not sure of costs but any sailing up a fjord is lovely!
