Thinking about staying here in August with my 6yo and wondered if anyone had been here before and could share their experience? Mainly I wanted to know if they had entertainment through the day for my child e.g. pool side activities (outside of the kids club) and also evening shows for the children/adults too. Many thanks

Amazing, one of the only places I've been where I was actually sad to leave with my DS.

Great place, would absolutely recommend. No real poolside activities though, and no real evening activities either - a quick hello and dance with the fox mascots at tea time. BUT that really doesn’t matter and it’s a wonderful place regardless. Only thing I’d say is be aware it can be quite windy.

It’s a while since I was there. We spent our days in the absolutely gorgeous beach so can’t comment on the pool. There’s a kids corner in each of the restaurants but I don’t recall entertainment in the evening as such.

We've also considered staying here. One thing I wondered, with the wind and ocean water temps were your kids actually able to swim at the beach? I worry that if mine can't do that they'd end up disappointed. They're actually pretty hardy temperature-wise but I wasn't sure how much waves (also currents) were a safety issue.for swimming.

I’ll be honest and say my daughter hated the beach. The wind was so strong that the sand whipped the back of our legs and really stung. I didn’t find it enjoyable either. That was in July as well. We were probably just unlucky. TBH it didn’t matter too much as the pools etc were so excellent.

No entertainment round the pool or in the evening… sea can be very cold, even in August… having said that, we have been 5 times and love it!

We stayed at a neighbouring hotel and were a bit disappointed with that part of the Algarve. I’d highly recommend Club Med Da Balaia. We had two superb holidays there and it is perfect for families. My dd loved the teen club, trapeze and taking part in a show. It is on a cliff top above a fabulous beach.

Thanks I appreciate the honesty- I've considered it a couple time now but I always hesitate on the beach aspect.
