Evening ladies!I have had the AMAZING offer from my ex MIL to have my son for ten days either in the first two weeks of August, or from the 1st October. Myself and my DP want to go abroad (we are in the UK). We definitely want warm weather. I always see amazing villas or hotels for really reasonable prices on social media but whenever I do a search things like that never come up. I am sure you wonderful mumsnetters will have some recommendations, we want something which is a bit different to the bog standard hotel, something you'd see on Tiktok 🤣, we aren't bothered where it is as long as it will be warm in either August or October, and we are on a budget so again, one of the luxury bargains you always see people get online! Thank you so much for reading 😊

I wouldn’t go in august if you are child free.

and the most amazing place I’ve ever been is the Maldives, but there will be some rain in october

If you're seeing places that appeal on social media, why not investigate those places to start with?

If you're looking for something different from a boxy hotel on a Spanish beach, you might like a riad in Marrakech? Most are around £100 a night for two, you will have flights and expenses on top.

Definitely October, you'll probably halve the cost of a holiday, if not more.

We stayed here on Gozo and it might fit the bill.

It's Boutique B&B but it's in an area with lots of seafront restaurants. You can travel all over the island or visit Comino or Malta, although for practicality I'd probably spend a couple of days near Valetta at the beginning or end of the holiday and then a week on Gozo. I'd go in October as August would be stupidly hot.

You read my mind! If we went in August it would definitely be to an adult only place 😅

I have seen loads in the past but never made a note of the names because I never thought we would get a child free holiday 🙈 You know the posts I mean though, rooms built into mountains, or surrounded by trees, or luxury hotel rooms in Vietnam for £20 a night! I will look at Marrakesh, thank you!

But also it is so much more expensive in August as its summer holidays for schools. I’d go outside that as you’ll get more for your money
