Holiday for group of 18-19 yr olds

Has anyone’s teens been on holiday with their friends recently? My 18DD wants to go away in the summer with some friends, they aren’t massive party animals but want a lively ish resort although maybe not as full on as some of the stereotypical destinations.

Prob Spain ish or Portugal or something. Thoughts anyone? 18-30 holidays don’t seem to exist anymore (which is a relief from what I remember!)

Malia in Crete and Tsillivi in Zante have proved popular for that age range in our family over the last couple of years. They had a few big nights out but more chilled ones in restaurants followed by a couple of drinks, days spent messing around the pool.
they picked accommodation at the lower end and found it was full of similar ages to them.

One DS went partying in Ayia Napa. Sounded pretty grim to me. The other one has been to Portugal (Lisbon and Porto) with mates and loves it.

Lisbon and Porto are great ideas. Really accessible, near lots of other things to do (especially Lisbon). If they’re priced out of Lisbon, the whole coast immediately north and south of Lisbon is lovely, and the train network is great too. It is the Atlantic though so cold and quite rough, great for surfing not so much for swimming. I think Portugal has it all tbh!

Avoid Albufeira in Portugal. Apparently according to my 18 yr DS and his friend it was ‘hardcore’. We actually stayed in Vilamoura nearby and the 16 year olds loved the marina and karaoke bars.

My dd went to krakow with friends then Budapest a few weeks later, they didn’t fancy the med resorts

DD went camping for 4 days. They went to a campsite a 10 mins drive from home.

They all enjoyed it so much they did it again the following year to reunite when they were all back home from 1st yr uni.

Thanks all. Porto is a nice idea. Also think camping would be fun!

My lot and their mates went to Lloret de Mar in Spain and had an absolute ball.
Went to Barcelona but it’s a bit of a trek.

They hired an amazing AirBnb (all 10 of them!! 😳)

Mine always enjoyed Alovr in Portugal , it’s lively with lovely bars and restaurants , there’s the beaches during the day and there’s boat trips to Lagos and portimao . It’s very chilled during the day and very lively during the evening .

My 20 year old went to Zante for a couple of years and had a blast.
