Hi!
We usually only holiday in our caravan in the UK but would love a week or 10 days in France this summer. Any ideas for something fun, near a beach and CHEAP! Kids are 13 and 11, active and up for anything. I would love to relax!! Any ideas gratefully received!! X

Will you be towing the caravan so are looking for suitable campsites or you are looking for a caravan free holiday stopping in ready accommodation?

Ideally I’d like a caravan free holiday this year if we can afford it… 🤞🤞

Do you want to drive or fly?

Rockinboppin · 19/01/2026 14:34

Probably drive but also possible to fly from London

Look at somewhere like Normandy or Brittany, plenty of sites with cabins, mobile homes or gites that are affordable. We use the overnight ferry though cheaper via Dover. The Normandy beaches are lovely and plenty of historical sites and museums to explore ideal for that age group. Away from the coast is typically cheaper. There are no tolls on the motorway in Brittany

The last two weeks of August/start of Sept seem to be cheaper (probably because a lot of kids have already gone back to school in Europe) so depending on when your DCs school start back that might be an option?
we’ve booked the last week at a Eurocamp in Carnac, Brittany & getting the ferry across. They gad some priced at £200 for the week.

what’s your budget?
