Going round in circles - May holiday Crete or Canaries

Hi all,

DP and I have been browsing holidays and are overwhelmed with choice and conflicting reviews. I thought I'd ask Mumsnet for recommendations.

So, we are looking for 7 nights, in mid-late May, prefarably an adults only hotel, self-catering is fine and either in the Canaries or Crete, flying from Leeds and Bradford.

Our budget is £1000pp. We would prefer somewhere not too isolated, so can access shop, bars, restaurants. We'd like a balcony and a pool.

Found lots of places that are suitable via Jet2, Tui etc but are put off by so many conflicting reviews that seem poles apart.

Can anyone please recommend a place and help put us out of our misery?

Staying at Marina Bayview, looks a good location and good reviews everywhere I checked 🙂

Do you know it/the area?

Yes it’s a lovely hotel. Great location. I’d recommend getting the ferry (a few minutes walk from your hotel) to Puerto de Mogan (little Venice in the canaries). Amadores beach is about 25 minutes walk away and stunning. Chester’s beach club is lovely too- very warm pool, lovely food and cocktails. Enjoy!
