2 kids travelling in Dubai

Hi All,

We’ll be travelling to Dubai soon with two kids (a new 4 year old and an 8 month old) and I had read that Uber and an app called Careem had car seats so wasn’t too worried. However now I’ve looked into it a bit more it’s not clear what kind of car seats these services will have and also that they are unlikely to have 2 car seats.

I’m wondering if we should just take our car seats from home but then not sure what we would do with them when we’re out and about.

I know by law 4 year olds don’t need a car seat in a taxi in Dubai but everyone keeps mentioning the poor driving standards so I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that.

Does anyone have any experience or advice on what to do?

Many thanks.

Depending on your budget you can actually hire a driver for the week in Dubai quite reasonably which might cover you (I used to live there for 13 years, don’t shoot me mumsnetters!). Then your children’s road travel safety and car seats can be confirmed for your whole stay? Plus would include your transfers to accommodation and tour the city for you?

Thank you @jjourneys. I’d not thought of that but will investigate!
