Where to go in Texas post cruise

We are doing a cruise that will end in Galveston, Texas in early November.
We would like to spend up to four nights in Texas before flying home, but not sure where to go. Current plan is to spend 2 nights in Galveston, then rent a car and drive to San Antonio for a couple of nights before driving back across to Houston airport.

Does this sound like a good plan? Are there things to do in Galveston that make it worth visiting, other than the beach - not sure if it will beach weather at that time of year? Is San Antonio a better choice than Houston? Lastly, is there anywhere worth a stop on the drive from San Antonio to Houston Airport, to make the most of our last day?

SA definitely a better choice than Houston I feel, the river walk area is fab. The JFK museum is also worth a visit in Dallas, the Stockyards at Forth Worth and FW itself also great to visit.

It’s just over 200 miles distance between Houston and San Antonio so it will be a fair amount of driving you’ll be doing over a couple of days.

There is not all that much to do in Galveston in November so I would consider driving from there to either Houston or San Antonio.

From what I've seen Austin looks nice

San Antonio, do the river walk and the Mexican market. Austin is worth a vist, Zilker park, the pink capitol building and party on 6th Street if your there overnight.
