Hi. I'm thinking of taking my son to either Vietnam or Thailand at Christmas. It'll just be him and me, for just over 2 weeks, and our first long haul trip together. Lots to think about, and Vietnam seems to be winning on being more affordable on the ground, but Thailand seems easier and more accessible somehow.
Does anyone have any advice? Vietnam seems more interesting, especially the history, but I'm quite tempted by the Thai island beaches, as we do want to have a bit of a chill out as well as seeing places.
Both countries seem safe from a middle aged mum travelling with a teen point of view?
