As above I haven’t been abroad for 10 years and this was before children so they haven’t ever been abroad. I’m looking for a week in June somewhere but overwhelmed with choice! Any ideas? Children are 6 and 10

What are you after spain maybe or one of the baleriacs might suit. Majorca is great for families.

Honestly I have no idea! Something with nice weather and fun for the kids! I’ll have a look at Majorca. Should have also said we don’t have a huge budget

We like salou/costa doranda in Northern spain . we stay in Cambrills it is a bit quieter suits us but there is other areas and it is only a 30/45 minute transfer from the airport and a short flight.

I really like Majorca it is a beautiful island, i don't have young kids so our hotel choices are usually quieter.

I'm probably going to go against the Mumsnet grain, but of the few holidays abroad we have had with our DC I liked going AI. The reason being the food and drinks are taken care of and I don't need to worry about budgeting and saving for that (although not all AI are equal).

I'd say a starting point is to decide on your board and to think about the facilities (entertainment, pools etc) that are non-negotiable. This will help to narrow down your options when looking.

Salou is great as Portaventura is there which kids will love. Tui have it on their website.

I loved Menorca when mine were little.

We went AI when our kids came with us, it was easier than half board, it is so handy for drinks and it cut down on the "i'm hungry" nonsense 😀
