hi pixiefish, is Manchester too far? Lots to see and do for your DD - trams, galleries, museums, urbis centre, lovely shops and the new Radisson SAS hotel in city centre is lovely - right by the Bridgewater Hall.
Chester Grosvenor hotel is very posh and central but I don't know how child friendly it would be. Good luck!

the talardy is a bit close to home. Fancied something a bit closer to Chester as we fancy a day at the zoo and walking round the walls etc. We're only an hour and a half from Chester- manchester would be ok if we could find a nice hotel

Hi pixiefish how about the Carden park? \link{http://www.devereonline.co.uk/jdevere.htm?www.devereonline.co.uk/hotel_carden\here

It's close to Chester for the walls and the zoo
