Please can you give me suggestions for UK holidays?

Tell me about your best UK holidays.

Somewhere close to the beach and something that's not a haven/Butlins type holiday, although a small independent holiday park would be ok.

I have all the equipment to camp but I'd rather not. 🤣🤣🤣 But will camp if it's a pretty special or unusual site.

Suitable for a worn out mummy and a 2 boys 13 and 9.

We had a lovely holiday just outside Weymouth many years ago. Our DC were a tat younger, but the jurassic coast has lots to offer.

I rented a 2 bed cottage in Northumberland.
Ds(10) and I visited Hadrian's wall, Holy Island, some Harry Potter stuff. We found a big country estate with safe cycle tracks, we went into Newcastle the only day is rained - cinema, bowling , meal. It was good fun & didn't involve a tent.

We have always holidayed in the UK as our main holiday. Our absolute favourite is the Lake District. Can usually find a lovely cottage somewhere. There are beaches, but my DCs are just as pleased to wander along a lakeshore and skim stones. One year they accidentally entered a National Trust stone skimming championship 🤣 taking place at Fell Foot park on Windermere!

We have also had lovely holidays in Dorset. Again in a cottage, and there are some lovely beaches - my youngest enjoyed fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast when she was little.

Grassmere or north Pembrokeshire.

We go to Pembrokeshire every other year and generally stay as close to Whitesands as we can. The campsite there is basic but has amazing views.
