My hairdresser (of 15 years) is getting married next month and honeymooning in Mauritius. I've just written her a card and thought it'd be nice to give her her tip in the currency for Mauritius which I have discovered is the Mauritian Rupee.

However I have a load of US dollars left over. Does anyone know if the all-inclusive places tend to accept this currency. Or shall I get the proper stuff?

Thanks

Probably not. Best to get the actual currency!

You can take us dollars but she would have to change them to local currency when she gets there, you end up paying loads more for stuff if paying in anything but the rupee
