Best sites for excellent B&Bs in France

Inspired by the great B&B challenge, I would like to include a B&B or two next time we travel in France. Usually we stay in hotels or apartments but would like to give a homely B&B a go. What are the best sites for finding great B&Bs? (Apart from the obvious Airbnb and booking.com)

I found Sawdays special places to stay really good for French B&Bs.

Sawdays are lovely. But not a budget option iirc!

I think one of the female judges on that programme works for Sawdays, but agree with pp that they aren't a budget option..

Thank you. Had a quick look at Sawdays and it does look very pricey! Once we’ve decided if/when/where we are going, will take another look. We may just do one night in somewhere like that just for the experience

Sawdays do tend to be proper chambre d’hote where you are very much looked after as though you are a family guest. I have had incredible meals with French families in them and really experienced the region.

Pretty sure chamber d’hotes have their own dedicated website Disclaimer , it’s been a few years since we used them but had some lovely overnights enroute to final destination.
