Does anyone have any good recommendations for this area ?

we usually do all inclusive holidays but I am getting bored of them with samey food all the time . I've always wanted to go to Italy too

with 3 kids we can't afford a five star 😂

I was thinking euro camp would work out cheaper, but when I look at flights on top I don't think it will be .

Does anyone know of any tips or best time of year to try and secure best prices for summer flights . We have the last weeks of Aug booked off , and it seems 24th Aug is quite a bit cheaper than the mid Aug .

You can go with Ryanair to Milan Bergamo and it’s very easy to get to Lake Garda from there on public transport. Assume if you mean August 2026 the flights will already be out so probably best to book as soon as possible

We had a fabulous holiday at Eden campsite on Garda. The lake is right next to the site. The site was clean, small, with shop. Small bar with twinkly lighting at night and beautiful views of the hills on the other side of the lake.
Steep-ish hills on site, but that's to be expected with the hilly terrain around the lake.
Weather was v hot, in the 30s. We had around 12 nights in August, was perfect.
We flew in then got taxis to the site, no car. Got cab twice to large supermarket for food shops which worked fine as my children love to explore foreign supermarkets!
Boardwalk at the lake for all the teens and children to jump off, they loved this, and lots of swimming. Swim shoes are a must, we bought these at camp shop.
Overall a lovely memorable holiday.

We were with Eurocamp and flew into Verona. The site is classified as 'quiet' so no big disco etc, but this suited us fine.

We have done this a few times now. Our favourite campsite was La Rocca camping village between Garda and Bardolino. 15 minute walk along the lakeside to either town, both of which was beautiful. Bus stop outside the campsite takes you around the east side of the lake and to the train station at Peschiera if you want to go further afield to Verona or Venice etc. We love lake Garda, definitely one of our favourite places.

We did a jet2 hol and stayed at Poiano Resort, we stayed in the hotel but they also do self catering apartments which might be easier with three. Option to include Breakfast or half bored.

Was one of our best holidays and very reasonably priced.

We drove via Germany. Last week of august in Italy plus 3 nights there and nights back staying in cheapish hotels, easier I know with only 2 kids. We stayed near Venice on the coast Pra del torri.
