Looking for a city break for 4 nights in February. Any recommendations? I like to visit other places for the day by train if possible. Thanks

Palma...visit Soller/ Port de Soller

I like both Gdansk and Vilnius

navystrap · 03/01/2026 13:29

Berlin and Prague are both good although I like to go when it's cold and I have friends there. I like @Ihatemondays1962 suggestions of Gdansk and Vilnius, both on my list of places to go soon.

Avignon. Temperatures average around 15 degrees in February - visits to Aix, Orange. Arles, Marseille

Also easy to reach via Eurostar and TGV.

Budapest. Spas perfect for February.

5128gap · 03/01/2026 17:50

Or Vienna. Train to Bratislava takes an hour, so two capitals in one trip.

sciaticafanatica · 03/01/2026 17:51

Bilbao & San Sebastián

cupfinalchaos · 03/01/2026 17:51

Venice.

Rome always my favourite

Talinn - beautiful

AnnaFrith · 03/01/2026 18:11

February, outside of Carnival, is the best time to go to Venice.

DemonsandMosquitoes · 03/01/2026 19:03

Have done loads. Seville is by far my favourite. Recently been to Ljubljana/Lake Bled and that is also highly rated.

Christmaseree · 03/01/2026 23:28

St Petersburg and Rome.

canibearsedregularly · 03/01/2026 23:33

Venice and Majorca.

Fingalscave · 03/01/2026 23:34

Budapest.

Seville, Lisbon and Granada were all great. So was Rome.

littlemisspickles · 03/01/2026 23:39

Copenhagen, then day trip to Sweden via train over the bridge.

Namechangerage · 03/01/2026 23:41

Second Copenhagen and Malmo.

I recently did Oslo and Gothenburg - flew in to Oslo, 3 hour train to Gothenburg and flew back from there. Loved it and perfect weather for sauna.

Namechangerage · 03/01/2026 23:44

Loved Lisbon in January. Could combine with Sintra.

sakura06 · 03/01/2026 23:48

We have visited Florence, Venice and Granada in February and all 3 are amazing. 3 nights and 2 days are enough in Granada though. Carnival was on in Venice which was amazing. Florence was probably my favourite.

Mumof2wifeof1crazytimes · 04/01/2026 00:01

Rome

avignon1234 · 04/01/2026 00:12

I'd go somewhere there is a chance of it not being blisteringly cold or wet. (I like both Vilnius and Gdansk (Poznan also), but would not go that time of year . Buda will be cold but it is beautiful, has thermal spas, and good transport. Seville would be my top pick, closely followed by some other cities where it is a chance of being tolerable weather wise.

Colinorpercy · 04/01/2026 05:56

Salzburg has been one of my favourites- did Hallstatt by bus and Vienna by train.

Madrid - day trip to Toledo. We actually stayed overnight in Toledo but lots do it as a day trip.

love Berlin, didn’t go anywhere else from there but quite sure you could no problem.

WeeHighlandCoo · 04/01/2026 13:35

Rotterdam with a day trip to Amsterdam.
