Best March/April holiday destinations

Any recommendations for a 1-2 week holiday at the end of March to start of April?

Ideally warm weather, warm enough to swim in the sea or pools.

We like pool time but equally like to have things to do, activities or places to visit and see and enjoy good food.

It would be me, DH and DS5 (during his school holidays).

Any ideas would be greatly welcome!

Mexico - anywhere between Cancun and Tulum

We went to Malta at that time of year in 2024, it was surprisingly warm, 20 to 25 degrees, and people were in the sea but it was chilly and swimming pools would be very cold. You need to go to longer haul to have proper swimming weather. Egypt is nearest, but it's more a holiday where you stay in thr hotel. Carribbean or Thailand would give you more options to potter about and sightsee. I hear good things about Oman, but not been myself.

Canaries probably
Morocco
Egypt
Caribbean
Mexico

Oman - gorgeous! You can do a mixture of sea near Muscat, and explorations in the desert (goat market in Nizwa, visit mud forts, visit oases)

It's a long flight so you'd need 2 weeks, but we went to Vietnam in April a few years ago and it was amazing.

We’re going to Thailand for those dates. Last took DS when he was 5 but going to different places this time.

Canaries though make sure they have heated pools, Caribbean, other long haul, anywhere closer is going to be iffy temperature wise (mainland Spain may be lovely but storms are also possible) personally I’d leave it until 2 weeks out and weather forecasts are available

Thailand is good that time of year but super hot/humid and can be jellyfish season.

Another vote for Oman 🇴🇲

This is great, thank you so much!!

We're semi planning a bigger Asia trip in 2027, I would LOVE to go this year as well. DS would love it (we went last year and it's his favourite continent and keeps asking to go back).

Mexico is a super good shout!! Thank you!! I'm going to look into this!

April is a great time in many places. I’d go to Japan

Check out tui magic life hotels. The one in fuerteventura was great. Your son would have the best time and you could relax . Egypt in a good hotel with a waterpark would be nice and toastie. Id steer clear of long haul for a week x
