How is everyone booking holidays these days? Single mum and thinking of taking my two girls aged 9 & 11 somewhere warm with a pool late June. So many options and I have no clue where to start. Some swear by all inclusive but is it worth it? HELP and any recommendations gratefully received.

Oh forgot to add prefer to fly from Edinburgh ✈️

Budget????! AI probably worth it due to ages of your DC .

Def AI if you have little ones...food is usually all day long and many cater really well for kids.

Personally if on mt own and first time abroad, I would book with someone like Jet2...they arrange transfers back and to airport, any delays or anything goes wrong they are on hand to sort.

Also choose short haul destination like Spain...a couple of hours flight

We go all inclusive as then we don’t have to worry about what DS8 eats. He can try something and not like it and choose something else. No stress with eating.

Massively depends on budget and what you are prepared to do whilst on hols and how much you want to sort yourself or let them sort for you. I think Eurocamp is great for your child ages, the accom is a bit cheap and cheerful, and involves a bit of planning, and some of the camps on the Italian lakes are trainable (Peschiera del Garda) but then you do have get yourself there, and that is not for everyone. I agree with @Eggybreadwithnuts couple of hours flight is best.

AI is only worth it either if you have a huge budget for a la carte, or you value quantity over quality and are spending most of your time at the hotel.

If you're wanting to get out and about for lunches or dinners it will likely feel a bit dull and restrictive.

You can always stock up on drinks, snacks and ice creams from the supermarket I you want plenty of those.

Your money will go further if you can get to Newcastle as still term time in England.

Balearics or mainland Spain has endless options, likewise Canaries but it is a long flight from Edinburgh/Newcastle. Even the closest parts of Spain to you will be over 3 hours.

@Frazzledmum49 have you decided on a destination? What are your girls into? AI holidays give you peace of mind that you do not need much spending money and if you go to a bigger result there should be enough entertainment. Greece is good for island hopping or Tenerife...
