infant (rear face) car seats on planes

mine is going in the hold to switzerland...(easyjet)
is it safe to just hand it in as is or would you try to wrap/bag it
if so what would you use?
anyone any experience?

I boxed/wrapped ours(sturdy box with bubble wrap and wedged with some other bits to stop movement) and checked in as oversized baggage. On your return the Swiss airports offer a shrink wrap service(for £££!!).
