Faro

We are a couple with 3 daughters and have booked the flights to Faro in April and will stay there for a week.
We are planning to rent a car - any companies you could recommend?
Also, what would be the best place to rent the accommodation - should we stay in Faro or choose somewhere else?
What activities and must see places would you recommend?
Any advise will be much appreciated 🙏

I would go to the east Algarve which is where the Portugese holiday - head out towards Tavira it's lovely. Haven't stayed in faro personally so can't comment. Have been in April though and can be pretty chilly still.

Thank you for recommending Algarve. I'll look into it.
We don't expect beach weather, but hopefully will be mild enough for hiking and enjoying outdoors.

So west Algarve is the most popular area for Brits - vilamoura, Albufeira etc.

East Algarve is more traditional Portugese - Tavira, Fuseta etc.

There is an area to the side of Tavira called Cabanas de Tavira which is beachfront and lots on Air BnB. I would recommend you get somewhere with an indoor pool though as will still be cool. Tavira itself is almost Venetian very lovely old town, well worth a look!
