Dubai - tell me how great it was if you dpent Christmas or New Year there?

Dont want to be in the UK for Christmas or NY this year. Fancy Dubai.

We have family in Dubai (including 3 month old and toddler grandchildren) so stayed with them.
We went to a candlelit Carol concert at Expo, which was really lovely.
we went to a pantomime which was fun
Visited Santa in his grotto
Had a ski- ing lesson in ski Dubai
Shopped in the malls, all beautifully decorated with Christmas trees etc
Went to the beach on Christmas Day after present opening, had coffee and breakfast by the sea.
Had Christmas dinner with family friends, dinner preordered and cooked, all delivered piping hot and including whole turkey, beef, vegetables and sauces, Xmas pudding, sticky toffee pudding, mince pies and Yule log. All we had to do was carve the meat and serve. No washing up of greasy pans etc!
In previous years (before baby and toddler arrived) we have been to Christmas Day brunch which was also really good. Choose carefully though, some can get a bit wild. We like Al Qasr best, no drunks, great live jazz and lovely food.
We enjoyed NYE sitting on the balcony of the house in our pyjamas, watching the amazing fireworks.
I didn’t enjoy the traffic jams and mad driving.
I missed my English family and the cold weather. Cost of living is high, but so is income as tax free.
We flew from LHR at quieter times, but we heard the airport was incredibly busy during the Christmas period.

Yawn...

Potentially our 21 DS will be with us so he'd be happy with beach, jet skis, visit to the snow/ski dome, malls etc.
