January sunshine inspiration needed

We are a 50 something couple, who enjoy Greek island self catering holidays in the summer, looking for a last minute week away in Jan or feb.
We would like it to be warm, and not 18-30s style resorts.
Not a huge fan of all inclusive usually but open to recommendations.
I know the Canaries are our closest sunshine destination, ideally not wanting to travel more than 7/8 hours and for 7/10 days.

Anyone got any suggestions of places we may like?

Los Gigantes in Tenerife. Beautiful weather, quieter town but still plenty of bars and restaurants.

Bit out of left field but have you considered Oman? Flight is about 7hrs from LHR direct and the weather is beautiful.

You could do a couple of nights in Muscat, go to the desert for a night, head to a wadi or two or go up to Nizwa.

The Canaries would be my choice but if you are used to Greece in summer you need to manage expectations weather wise.
We usually go every January. It's likely to be t-shirt weather by day, chilly by night. I love getting a dose of sunshine but don't expect serious heat.

One of my favourites is Playa Blanca Lanzarote. Half board at the Iberostar Lanzarote park in the star prestige adults only wing. (Not AI).
There's also lots of nice villas there. A long scenic promenade and some interesting days out. I also love Puerto Del Carmen. Stayed s/ at the bungalows Velasquez which were beautiful.

Essaouira, on the coast of Morocco, is a nice holiday spot. It’s got a laid-back, artsy vibe. We felt very safe and less prone to harassment, even at night. There’s lots to do - we spent time exploring Medina and Citadel, enjoying the wide beaches, camel rides, visiting nearby areas like Sidi Kaouki and shopping in the souks.
