Anyone stayed at Efteling Bosrijk? Looking to book for next Christmas / NY. What’s it like in terms of self catering?

Haven't been at Christmas (only summer) but there is a Lidl 10 minutes away (and probably another supermarket too - I'm sure someone will be along with more info soon). There is a "shop" at reception but it is very, very basic and expensive. You wouldn't be able to shop for a meal there.

We had pizzas delivered to the house when we were there, and there is a restaurant at the hotel reception - we had a lovely meal there, but it wasn't cheap.

Fresh pastries/croissants are available at the Bosrijk reception in the morning - I think you can also get them delivered to your house. We didn't do this as we had a property quite close to reception, but some of the houses are a fair walk away.

We didn't do any actual cooking when we stayed, but I do remember commenting that it would have been a bit of a struggle with the limited facilities (check the listing for clarification).

We had a brilliant time there and have booked again for 2026, but I think there are plenty of MNetters who are far more seasoned veterans than me and will hopefully be along with some advice soon.

Edited TWICE for typos.

Thank you this is helpful! We are hoping to go for quite a few days and stagger our park / rides out with other activities so would like to have a base where we can cook for some meals.

I may be misremembering, but I don't think there was an oven. There was definitely a microwave which might have had a grill function, but we didn't actually cook anything so I might be wrong.
