Ikos with less food?!

We went to ikos Dassia last year and my husband and I loved it.
However, it was lost on my kids (9+6), they just moaned about wanting to go to the buffet whilst we wanted to enjoy the restaurants.
Does somewhere with ikos quality everything exist but just a buffet for food? We can eat well at home so happy to sacrifice this element to keep the peace!
We made use of all the facilities, enjoyed water sports, pools perhaps better evening entertainment would be appreciated.
Short haul Spain, Greece too.
Many thanks!

Whats the problem with what you had but just going to the buffet. Why do you need to book something without the restaurants as well (if that is what you are asking about)

Is it less money to do that?

The whole point of Ikos and other top AI hotels are the range of al a carte restaurants. Try sani where the only free restaurant is the buffet.
Or we’ve done voyage in turkey and there is a very small supplement for al a carte so you can justify not using them.

Assume part of the premium price is for premium food options, so looking for alternatives. It would seem a waste to go and just use the buffet.

The AI with buffets only tend to not be 5star luxury, all drink options etc.

My kids are the opposite and moan like hell faced with a buffet 🙄 can’t win!

Who's in charge ? You tell them to shut up where you will all be eating.

We went to a Marriott Domes which has a buffet and restaurants. We only went b&b though so everything was extra. The buffet was pretty reasonable the one night we tried it, but traveling with baby it was mostly supermarket picnics on the balcony.

Neilsson used to be half board only, has been a long time since I used them. Cheaper are the TUI hotels and just pay for water sports locally

Sani! Sister hotel to IKOS but half board. It’s in Greece. I preferred IKOS but my husband preferred sani

pambeesleyhalpert · 26/12/2025 19:15

There’s more to do for kids as well in sani

I love a Turkey AI and depending on your budget I can recommend:
Maxx Royal - this is IKOS standard
Voyage, I went to Belek but I’m sure the others are just as good
Liberty Lykia - .This was our best family holiday. My dc still talk about it.
