BA Gatwick

We are due to fly with BA from Gatwick in February and I read last night that bag drop doesn’t open until 2 hours before the flight. I’ve never had such a short time before a long haul flight before and in my mind, it sounds like a rush. Can anyone allay my concerns?

Haven't been through there in a while but I see that's what BA publish and normally, most places, two hours should be way more than enough.

TBH that's is fairly standard at a few airports...but I'd maybe advise arriving a little bit early, in case they open up early.

Gatwick security has been amazingly efficient the last couple of times I have been through. The new machines meaning you don’t need to take everything out of your bags make a big difference.

We have flown with BA from Gatwick three times in the past 18months and the whole process was really efficient. I was dreading it but actually impressed

I fly quite frequently and haven't waited more than 20 min in the security queue for at least 2 years.
