Las Vegas - is it true that under 21's are not allowed in bars/casinos?

Our Managing Director is going at the end of the month with his wife and 15yo dd. He's been told that he won't be able to take his dd into any establishment that serves alcohol

Does anyone know if this is right?

I think they are allowed in but not to gamble or drink but they can go in the shops and resturants

I went to Vegas 4 years ago and under 21's were allowed to walk through the casino's but not stray of the path or stay.

Thanks for that

Does that mean then that he and his wife won't be able to drink/gamble whilst she's with them?

They wont be able to play the machines or use the bar areas while she is with them, but they can use all the shops and buffett areas with Dd.

Talking about Vegas..

Anyone got any top tips or ideas on good places to go to eat/drink/gamble?

Just any suggestions really, I am going in a few weeks.

Thanks and sorry for the Hijack NAAM..

I stayed at the Riviera where the film Casino was made, it was fab.

You can go into any Casino and use the buffet's so try a few, New York New York and Excalibur both brilliant, but do make sure you see the dancing fountains at Bellagios, fantastic

DirtySexyMummy · 11/06/2008 17:40

Ooh yeah definitely want to see the fountains. We are staying at the Bellagio.

How easy is it to go in and start gambling, can you just walk in and play, or do you need to become a member? Is it like here?

finallypregnant · 11/06/2008 18:08

Just walk up to a machine and stick your money in. You don't need to be a member. Most of the casinos do a class to learn but if you are unsure, pick a table or a slot with minimum people around so you can ask questions! Remember if a waitress asks you if you want a drink the drink is complimentary but you do have to give your waitress a tip. Stay at a machine and play if you want a glass of something.

I'd recommend looking at the Las Vegas pages of www.tripadvisor.co.uk. I could not have planned my trip without it.

Have a wonderful time. We loved it!

DirtySexyMummy · 11/06/2008 18:14

Ooh yes I will have a look at that site thank you.

I don't want to play machines though, I want to play table games, that is what I like to do here. I don't like the machines here, presuming its the same idea..

We stayed at The Venetian last August, it was to die for, we also booked to see Phantom of the Opera there, fantastic, I am most !
