Is it a nice time to go? Or is it just too cold and wet? I've never been but want to get there before dc are too old to be interested. Which hotel is the most convenient?
Thanks in advance!

It is FREEZING! We went years ago and had to wear leggings under jeans to keep warm, 2 pairs of socks etc. My DC were very young at the time and they were in ski salopettes.

But Disney at Christmas is magical. It was worth it. Just pack warm and pack extra.

If you’re hardy, don’t feel the cold too much and prepare well by buying lots of thermals and hand warmers, then the run-up to Christmas is a magical time to visit. I’m not going to lie, it’s absolutely freezing though.

Plan to go next Christmas, need to go and see the new Frozen section they're adding to the studios park, but was also just going to say some of them never seem to out grow it. We were in Tokyo Disney in the summer with 10 and 13 year olds, and the oldest has chosen Paris Disney for her end of year enrichment trip with school for July 2026. The Disney magic draws you in.

We were there 29th-30th Nov and wasn't too cold. Was pretty busy but the christmas decorations, parade etc are great.

In terms of hotels Disneyland hotel is nearest to everything but very expensive. Otherwise the other onsite ones are marvel, newport, sequoia lodge, cheyenne, santa fe. We have stayed at newport bay and santa fe and were both good.

We’ve just back after the second time there at Christmas. It’s so magical and so worth it. Last year it was very cold but no colder than we’re used to and this year it was really warm and sunny, my little boys were only in one layer
