Anyone know best way to get to Limoges with 3 kids?

Hoping to visit family next year. Would appreciate advice on whether it is possible to fly (where can one fly there from in UK?), driving times, and/or Eurostar/tunnel options?

Have not done such a trip with kids before so would appreciate advice...

We drove down further south of Limoges the last 2 years with 2 kids. Ferry into Cherbourg is good as you're the right side of the country - I think it would take you 6 hours or so from the port, quite an easy drive in a day. We went overnight on the ferry so you drive off at 7am with a whole day ahead of you (how much sleep you get depends on the kids of course!).

You in one car, and the three of them in another car!

hoho. I was hoping for one or two 'two in the front, two in the back' type funnies...

Arse. I only came in to say "two in the front two in the back".

Ho hum.

We've flown to Limoges from Liverpool and East Midlands I think.

No, them in the back would be grim....you deffo need them in another car!

Tunnel is V good, but it is quite a drive. Can you get a very early crossing? or stay the night just the other side , there are lots of goodish but cheap hotels at Cite europe, you could then drive down in one.

You can use the RAC route planner

Hi - I live near Limoges and if we are travelling with the kids (I have 3) we usually drive to Folkestone and take the Eurotunnel to Calais and then drive down. It takes us (door to door) roughly 12 hours from NE London. If there is only one of us or only have one of the kids then we take RyanAir from London Stansted. Takes about 1.5 hours. You can hire cars from Limoges airport as well.

Hope this helps.
