Beaches/Resorts on French Med Coast

I like the look of the med coast of France for summer hols for us plus 3 teens. Not scorching, flights are cheap, tons of villas etc and the beaches look OK...

Can anyone recommend somewhere in particular with decent beaches (some sandy, some rocks to jump off for kids), not insanely heaving in August, some shops and restaurants. Any tips hugely appreciated!

Le Levandou and Cavalaire sur Mer have both rocky and sandy beaches

Saint-Cyr-Sur-Mere was nice in June. It's heaving in August according to a waiter I asked. I think the whole of the French med coast is.

The area around Hyères has both expanses of sandy beaches (on the peninsula) and rocky ones, such as at Carqueiranne, plus the island of Porquerolles is not far and worth a visit. Alternatively, there is the Carmargue that has a lot of large sandy beaches but I don’t remember any rocky ones.
