Hubby has managed to get an extra 4 days off work at the time we're planning 5 nights in NY. We'd like to spend more time in the are away from the hussle and bussle of the city so does anyone know somewhere we can go for an extra couple of nights without travelling too far from NYC but that has a slower pace of life with good food, wine and may be a spa?

I haven't been here in many years, but it used to be lovely and looks like it still is. The hiking is wonderful and you can sit out on the porch in a rocking chair. It used to have decent food too and is not hard to get to at all.

We are going at the beginning of July and are doing NYC, Cape May and then the Poconos mountains/lakes in Pennsylvania.

Both Cape May and the Poconos are a 2 hour drive from NYC.
