Lapland - what to pack?

We are going to Lapland on a TUI package at the end of December. I know we need merino wool based layers / thermals.

can anyone share any tips / experiences of what to take / not take? Any big tips?

Take power banks. The cold drains your phone battery quicker and you’ll be wanting to use your phone a lot for videos etc… Also, touch screen gloves are useful so you can still use your phone with gloves on.
The cold also dries out your lips and hands, so take plenty of chap stick and hand cream!

Don't forget swimwear for hotel saunas, and a few snacks for day trips since lunch is at a set time.
You need a hat that covers your ears and ideally something that comes up over your face like a buff or snood.

The hotels are super hot so layers are key. More for outside less inside.

Also take some flu remedy pills for you and kids.

My dd came back with chest infection. She still had fun but was poorly bless her.

Was there last year. Kids not interested in snacks. Brought most of them home. Snoods were great and we have carried on using them. Evenings kids played in the snow until about 10 pm so the fancy thermal jammies as loungwear were really just for bed. The adults on the other hand were in loungwear if all descriptions most of the evening.

I took snow toys that I bought on Amazon, like snowball makers in various shapes - we left a huge line of snow ducks at the swingpark next to our hotel!! I also took bubbles (which freeze and look amazing) and our hotel had sleighs you could borrow at the door. It was a brilliant trip though, have a great time!!
