Car seats from car hire companies abroad - or take your own?

Just wondering whether to take own car seat or whether to hire one from whoever we hire car from. Do you have any recommendations for particular companies? Any experiences?

Well, I've just been in this same dilema!

We booked a car, shopped around for cheapest poffers but all seemed to be charging about £40 for a car seat! (in europe)

So looked on the airline website, they charge £18 to take a car seat as oversize baggage, but lotd of people just turn up at the airport with the carseat and don' get charged (or so I've heard on mumsnet!)

So I am just taking mine along with me tomorrow, and hoping they don't charge.

At least this way it's DS's car seat, we know how to use it, know its history etc.

Thanks OMDB. Suppose the only thing then is lugging it to airport...

Happy holidays!
