Singapore - area recommendations and hotels with separate bedroom?

Planning 5 nights in singapore next year. Would love recommendations on best areas to stay with a 12 year old (plan on visiting Chinatown, sentosa, marina bay). Also need a hotel with a separate bedroom is there such a thing? Finding it very hard to find anything. Are serviced apartments reliable enough? Would prefer the safety of a hotel. Thanks

What’s your budget? Even in the big hotels, the option is usually converting the sofa to a bed.

At The Barracks on Sentosa, the second bedroom was the room upstairs, connected by a staircase on the pool deck. DS was the same age and loved it.

The Goodwood Park hotel near Orchard has an option with a separate bedroom on the upper floor. About £180-200 a night generally.

Budget ideally would be £2000, really dont mind a sofa bed, just need a room with a door to the bedroom (husband is a terrible snorer and im a light sleeper 🙈)

I would look at suites as these sleep three. Hilton on orchard road has suites.

(If your husband’s snoring is that loud he should be checked out medically in case he has sleep apnoea).

I’d see what The Barracks can do for you with one of their Duplex Suites. You should get a discount for signing up to the (free) Far East Insider program.

l travel to Singapore fairly regularly for work. Clarke Quay is a great place to stay with brilliant access to public transport.

l’m afraid l can’t help with the separate bedroom as l always have a studio, but the Somerset hotel group have good apart hotels. You can also filter on apart hotels and apartments indicating number of rooms with the main booking sites. Humidity is high and it rains most afternoons. When you go inside places air con is usually freezing.

l think it’s nice to stay somewhere with a pool to cool off.

lf you think you have found somewhere suitable and would like to drop me a PM, l may be able to tell you more about place or area. Enjoy.

Some years back we stayed at 30 Bencoolen, in a family suite - our DS had the living area where the sofa unfolded and his own bathroom, can’t remember if there was an actual, closing door separating us though…

Apart from that, the transport connections were amazing (3 MRT stops nearby) and the area wasn’t hectic.

We had an apartment at one of the Somerset ones and it worked really well with toddler DS.

I second 30 Bencoolen! Children were 9&11, their room had 2 single beds and they had their own bathroom too. We had an incredible time.
