Celestyal Cruises

Has anyone used this company ? I believe it’s a Greek Company, cruises mainly in the Eastern Med area. They seem to use older ships. My interest is that they offer 3 and 4 day cruises around some of the Greek Islands, which very much appeals to me, as someone who has never been on a cruise before and am very unsure whether I would take to it, and also I’ve never been to anywhere in Greece. So, any experience, anyone? Or alternatively has anyone used another company which does ‘taster cruises’, either Southern Europe or Baltics/Scandinavia? Thanks.

I don't know anything about this cruise line, but I would be wary of short cruises, especially 3-day ones out of the UK, as they are booze cruises/stag and hen dos. A better introduction to cruising is one for a week. Cruise Critic have reviews of cruises/cruise lines. I've been on 12 cruises.

There is no suggestion that they are that type of cruise @RetiredGranny. They do a morning and an evening stop at different islands and offer various trips at each destination. We would fly to Athens (where the cruise leaves from) and spend a couple of days there too. I’ve looked at various (mixed) reviews but just wondered if anyone from MN had been on one. I definitely wouldn’t be taking a short cruise from the UK.

Check what the price includes.

It may well not include flights & transfers, drinks & tips.

There is an episode of Jane McDonald on a Celestyal cruise in Greece you could watch…

Flights and transfers are definitely extra, and I think you get the choice to add the other things in. I would definitely look into that.

There is a couple on YouTube called Andy & Kirstie who’ve done millions of cruises, including Celestyal. They’re easy to watch and from the U.K. I would watch them before making up my mind, as it will give a flavour of what it’s like. I’ve done a few cruises and would definitely try this company.
