Hello All
If you have a couple of seconds please look at my website for our house near Pau and let me know what I could do to improve and perhaps make it more appealing to families. Thanks in advance pauholiday.googlepages.com/home

sorry hijack - saw your new nick. DO NOT eat all the jaffa cakes!

NicMac · 07/06/2008 15:01

Thanks for your speedy feedback, I am not too sure about prices, has anyone any idea how much they have paid in the past? I did put about a swimming pool on the home page. Thanks again

The 2 minutes from the motorway would put me off TBH it makes me think its directly overlooking it and therefore noisy. I know you say its tranquil on the garden page but I probably wouldn't have got that far into looking at it.

Is the garden enclosed (if it is say so .. I rate that as v important...wandering toddlers and all that)

Other than that it looks lovely!

Thank you so much, will update with your comments

Sorry to be pedantic but you've spelt endeavour wrong on that page (years of proofreading reports)

Kindersurprise · 07/06/2008 17:50

You have misspelt endeavour, but other than that it looks lovely.

You could put the distance to the motorway rather than the time to drive there. How far is it? About 5km?

I think more personal detail about why you are child friendly (have/had children yourself?) apart from the standard cot, high chair etc. - list exactly what you have/could provide at an extra charge. You also don't show the bedrooms where the children would be.
The italian back terrace is a paved back garden? Does the garden at the front have an enclosed grassed area for the children to play outside? - if not where is the nearest playground. What is good for children in the area? Looks lovely but not particularly small child friendly.

Do you want just babies and older children not toddlers? Some toys (box of indoor and outdoor) if someone can check they are clean and maintained after each rental, and some DVD's for children do help.

Perhaps have a separate click on link to these things which may be of interest to families/family friendly features of the house.

It does have a look of a home made site - have you consulted a professional website designer? IMO would be worth it to capture the features which make you home stand out from the others available to rent.

BTW am very hard to please

NicMac · 08/06/2008 06:55

Thanks for all the extra input, very good points and I will update accordingly. We are only planning on renting out the house a few weeks a year so not sure it is worth us investing in a professional website but something to bear in mind. Thanks again - it is really appreciated.
