Essaouira, Morocco or other recommendations for December

Good evening, I would like to go away with my DD aged 19 for December, ideally Christmas for 4 or 5 nights. Ideally somewhere warm, by the beach and a 4 hour flight. I am thinking of going to Essaouira in Morocco. Has anyone been / recommend it? Will it be very windy and will I be hassled a lot? Does anyone have any other recommendations? Many thanks x

I would go to somewhere like Lanzarote if it’s just you and dd. I wouldn’t go back to Morocco with my adult dd unless it was all inclusive and we stayed in

What do you enjoy doing in holiday? i loved Morocco and much preferred b&b and eating out. We went last year for xmas, xmas is not celebrated which I enjoyed ! It’s so commercialised here its nice to take the pressure off. Will be likely lovely and warm during the day but cool at night.

I'd go to Malaga city for a few days. You can't go wrong there and it's a short flight that goes from many airports. The weather is not guaranteed but it will be a lot warmer than home and it doesn't get dark until about 6pm. The shopping area in Calle Larios is great, and the buzz around the Cathedral area in the evenings for tapas and drinks is fab. The streets will be decorated for Christmas and the atmosphere around is great.

There's plenty to do there, but if you happen to get itchy feet you could take a day trip to Granada to see the Alhambra.

Very safe city too.

Essaouira was very windy when I visited it one year in May and is known for being so. Don't think I'd risk it in December.
Really like the suggestion above for Malaga and surrounding area.
Also, how about Malta? I was going to suggest Cyprus (e.g. Paphos) but the flight is further.

Am here with DH at the moment. It’s very nice, low key. V different from Marrakesh and other towns. I’ve not been hassled at all, and as far as I can see, no one else is either. Lots of locals going about their business.

It’s my second time here and I do find the wind a bit annoying (great for kite surfers) but it is still very pleasant.

It’s not particularly exciting, just low key wandering round the medina, popping into small art galleries and walking on the beach. But ideal if you want to escape from the day to day grind and city chaos.

Lots of yoga and art/cookery classes, so attracts retirees, but plenty of young people around too, maybe for the watersports.

I would recommend it if you want a simple, relaxed break.
