I know this is a bit how long is a piece of string q, but has anyone been to a nice resort in Crete?
We would fly into Chania, and will have a car. Im looking for suggestions for decent apartments near a beach, with access to restaurants etc. Self catering only, not interested in a hotel really. Somewhere with a pool too.
Ive been on tripadvisor and honestly there is sooooooooooo much , im getting nowhere. If someone could say, i stayed here and it was lovely, that would be deadly!
We love puerto mogan if that gives you an idea.
Having said that, i did a few days in Rhodes AI and that was good too, so maybe i could have a look?
Anyone been?

Almyrida. Look at google maps and search for accommodation and loads of options will pop up. Or Booking.com

Look at SK place villas. Dominia Villas. Lovely.

We went to almyrida this year and loved it!! Quite small but enough to keep you occupied and a lovely laid back feel. Kalyves is just down the coast and a bit bigger. We had a car so it was perfect for us and we did lots of exploring. It’s somewhere I would definitely return to.

Sounds good! Would you mind saying where you stayed?
it sounds like the place for us.

We did a Jet2 cheapy over half term to Amoudara (just outside Heraklion) to an AI hotel and it was amazing for what we paid! Depends when you are going though as it all seemed to be winding down for the off season…also Heraklion is the airport from hell so not flying to and from there is probably wise

Georgioupolis is lovely. Check it out. It’s a lovely village. Self catering with pools, I can recommend various, it’s usually better to book direct. Have a look at: Anna’s House, Tarra, Kokkalas, Athena, Sunrise, for starters.

Almyrida - tiny and lovely. And the sea swimming!

I agree with America or Kalyves - both lovely!

I would also recommend Almyrida or Kalyves although I'm not sure how many apartments will have a pool. The sea is so lovely for swimming that we always just swim there

I second Almyrida, absolutely beautiful.

Always Chania for many years. Loved Georgiopolous before it became developed and pricey but still lovely; also Aghia Marina and Kolymbari (where the olive oil cooperatives are).

Yes. Stella Palace with TUI.
