Krabi - tours

Hi All,

We will be in Krabi for a couple of days towards the end of our holiday. We will be staying at the Dusit Thani hotel.

Does anyone have any tours that they recommend or must sees? We will be there in early Dec. Just DH and me.
Thanks!

Oh that’s a lovely hotel. You should definitely hire a longtail and go round to Railay beach. You can also get a boat over to Phi Phi, though it’s horribly over-developed now.

Emerald pool and springs are a great trip

Long time ago, but I have been to Krabi 3 times. We have done the Emerald pool. There were a lot of mossies there though. We had a speed boat trip to the Phi Phi islands. We have taken a boat from Ao Nang beach to Railay. Railay and Phi Phi are touristy but worth a visit. We have climbed the 1260 steps to the temple by the tiger cave (in 40 degrees!) We have also done quite a few boat trips around Phang Nia Bay. I think some of these trips were organised by our tour company, Kuoni, while we were there and some were organised by the hotel. Some we just took taxis and the trip to Railay we just took from the beach in AoNang.

We stayed at the same hotel as you, although it was called the Sheraton then.

We did a days private tour that included the Emerald Springs and Tiger Cave, he also took us to a beautiful restaurant for lunch. Then we did quad biking in the afternoon.

We took a boat to Railay one day. Walked the Monkey Trail.

We only spent a few days there before moving on to Koh Lanta.

Thanks @FootyMcFooty these seem to be the places to go! I'll take a look. we will also just be there for a few days and will be going there from Koh Lanta so similar to you 😃. Just keen to make sure we do the right things in Lanta and then some variation on Krabi!

We have 5 nights in Krabi in January so watching with interest. Does the boat trip to Phi Phi take long as I’m not great on boats and I understand it’s a speed boat?

Defo get a boat to Railey Bay, my favourite place in the world.

We did the 3/4 island long boat tour from Lanta so didn’t book that in Krabi. Loved both places. Hoping to go back next year.

Just remembered one of the highlights of the boat tour from Koh Lanta was the Emerald Cave, it’s was amazing to see and experience.
