Japan in the summer

Would you visit Japan in the summer or is the weather unbearably hot/humid in most parts?

We did about 7 years ago, because of being limited to summer holidays for a longer trip (we did 3 weeks).

It was incredibly sweaty (particularly in Tokyo), we had to strip off and wash everything we wore daily so washing facilities were much appreciated!

No regrets though, absolutely loved it & would love to return to see more.
