Does anyone want to get excited together about upcoming Holidays?

I am so excited, but don't really have anyone (apart from DH) to get excited with. It feels too much like gloating, as friends don't have any upcoming trips. But I am so excited!! We are going to the Caribbean in 2 weeks time. We have booked first class train travel to Manchester Airport, we have an Executive room with lounge access and a runway view at the Radisson Blu, and we have Premium Seats on the flight.

I'm self employed and I have only had about 5 days off since February, so I really need this break. I've got all my holiday clothes out, ready to pack. I got some lovely Monsoon dresses off Vinted for a fraction of the original price.

Anyone else going away soon?

I’ve just booked a holiday for me and DD15 in February. I’m so excited!

I travel a lot for work, and we live overseas so we travel to see family, but we haven’t been on a relaxing vacation together for around 6 years.

Came back from holiday last night. Fighting post-holiday blues by looking forward to our next holiday which is exactly 1 month away 🥳

Don’t blame you ! So you are off just after Christmas then? Where are you going to ?

We have Funchal booked in January, for a week. I always feel happy there! Then skiing in March, in another favourite spot. Gotland in Sweden in September, where we’re meeting up with relatives, and an island hopping trip in Scotland with a friend.

But the one I’m most looking forward to is a tiny coastal village in West Wales for NY. We lived there when I was a small child. My dad is coming with me. We lost Mum six years ago, but we spent such a happy 18 months there when Dad was at a nearby uni in the late 60s.

I've just booked flights to Corfu in June. For a change our very local regional airport had really good prices. It's the only place we're return visitors too and have a little spot we love. It's an easy week away as we know it so well so can instantly relax and neither of us feel bad for not going somewhere new!

We're looking maybe Italy or Portugal for March. August likely we'll go away in camper somewhere. We were thinking long haul in autumn but I've a big birthday early 2027 so might hold off.

Whereabouts in Wales? I love West Wales too.

This is a lovely thread! Great to read about other people's holidays! Nothing like a planned holiday to perk you up!

We aren't going until next Summer, but will be going to Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa and I'm looking forward to it a lot!

We are off to New Zealand in January with a 3 day stop over in Singapore I too am so excited having spent ages researching and booking afraid other half doesn’t share my passion and he may give a thought to it all while packing!!!

I’m going to Cologne for a long weekend in February. Time to myself and I love Germany.

Im going to Finland next week( Santa) and Italy in January skiing and France in March skiing, Dubai at some pint to see son and Tenerife in October.

Honestly this sounds amazing. I’d be bouncing off the walls too if I had a trip like that coming up. The build up before a holiday is one of the best parts, pulling out clothes, checking the weather, imagining the first day there. Caribbean sun after months of barely any time off must feel like winning the lottery.
I’m not going anywhere soon but reading this kinda gave me a little secondhand excitement. Enjoy every minute of it.

We are going to Mauritius in 7 weeks only booked it yesterday but my husband has Stage 4 cancer and having chemotherapy but his oncologist has okayed a trip following a positive scan so we are definitely looking forward to a break.

I am no longer excited about my holiday as my car decided to (potentially) shit itself on Friday, meaning we potentially can’t go as we were driving down to Switzerland!

It’s in the garage and we should have a diagnosis tomorrow. Please everyone send all the good vibes that it’s nothing serious and we will have it back by Thursday, otherwise it’s try and find last minute flights, rent a car or cut our losses 😥
