Xmas market recommendations with ASD teen?

My daughter ( 13 ) would love to go to a Xmas market somewhere but is very particular with food and doesn’t eat meat so can anyone recommend one that may work?

We won’t have a car there and she isn’t a fan of public transport so one that we can get to easily once off the plane etc would be brilliant? X

I'm going to Belfast at the end of November, the Christmas market is right next to our hotel. The airport is a 15 minute taxi ride or a 1 hour walk. Not sure about veggie foods as Ive never been before. Im hoping for gluten free 😁

When you say "get off the plane" I assume you're fine with some sort of transit from the plane to a hotel/central location- taxi? bus? similar? I don't think, as a rule, that markets are right near airports!

Salzburg is a lovely small city so onc eyou're in the city, the Christmas market and local hotels are all very accessible. Cheese is pretty big in Austria so while full blown vegetarian food might be a bit elusive, cheese is widely available and probably sold at markets or restaurants near by. Also cake. Lots and lots of cake. Grin

I've heard Cologne is amazing and again, quite small once you're in the City itself.

I LOVED Munich Christmas market a few years ago. We stayed in a hotel quite near the market but from memory, the trip from airport to city was a bit longer. I could have made that up. Munich is also quite a cosmopolitan city so I think you'd be likely to find a decent variety of vegetarian food.

What about Edinburg?

We found lots of vegetarian food in Cologne - potato pancakes, cheese spaetzle etc… They even had a vegan market https://www.cologne-tourism.com/experiences-lifestyle/events/detail/veihnachtsmarkt
A taxi from the airport to the city centre would take about 20 mins.

Veihnachtsmarkt 2025 - Vegan Christmas treats

Cologne-Kalk is home to Cologne's only vegan Christmas market, which takes place in December. Find out more now.

I'm not even vegetarian or vegan and those sound amazing. Cologne is at the top of my list - it looks amazing!!!!!

What about Edinburg?
Edinburg is in Texas, it's Edinburgh and the Xmas markets are terrible!
You don't have to eat at the markets though, it's often just fast food - burgers, chips, donuts and overpriced mulled wine type rubbish in the UK.
