Holiday suggestions

Hi, I’m hoping to tap into some mumsnet holiday recommendations…
We are looking for just a nice summer holiday next year in Europe. We’ve got young children nursery/primary age and ideally are hoping to find somewhere family friendly, close to the beach but also walk able to a harbour/town etc. We love to potter around, visit places and eat out, the kids are great they love a water slide but are perfectly happy just playing in the pool or at the beach.
We went to Cyprus last year and the hotel wasn’t like what we expected and was quite far away from everything so hoping to see if anyone could suggest anything as all our holiday searches come up with a lot and we have no clue about where is good and where isn’t!
Our ideal would be Lake Garda but it just seems to come up very expensive.
Thanks in advance 😊

Valamar Camping Istra in Croatia. The accommodation is really pretty nice, there’s a buffet, à la carte and snack bar options onsite, a spa, splash park, kids club, playground and a few beaches.

If you like the idea of Lake Garda, and it’s the views and lake activities, what about somewhere less well known in France. Check out Annecy, Serre Poncon and Briancon areas. Lots of fun things for kids to do.

Lake Garda isn’t expensive! It’s sooo bloody cheap to eat out and it’s walkable from one town to another. Driving is easy too but jet2 also do packages with transfer (long transfer though and much much quicker to drive)

Look at the Eurocamps and similar. Lazise might suit or Bardolino

I’ve done a quick search. Easter holidays flights with Ryanair £750 including a bag, a week at Campeggio del Garda (2 pools, slides and entertainment for the kids, 5 mins walk from the harbour for ferries and 10 mins walk from the train station for trips to Verona and Venice) £511 (6th April).

Car hire is usually around €25 per day or you can book a private transfer or get the bus from the airport (takes around 50 mins).

Eating out is reasonable and you’ll have plenty to do that with in your budget.
