Hi , I’m reaching a milestone birthday and would like to book a 2 week long haul holiday
I know that a lot of countries get very hot in June which I can’t cope with , a few years ago we went to America the heat was too much so this time I would like somewhere not too hot 🥵
We have been to Canada and South Africa so don’t want to do that again

I’d like to go somewhere that has lots of nice scenery , some nice beaches and as I’m an animal lover animals but I don’t want to go anywhere that has cruelty . Any advice please ?

New Zealand

Anywhere in the southern hemisphere will be miserable in June - rarely temps above 15 degrees in the NZ winter!

Copilot says Japan, Peru, Argentina. (Also Canada, South Africa, NZ winter.)

I'd say safari in Zambia - June is their winter so as cool as it gets (ie, v hot by UK standards but as a non-heat lover i found it bearable). It's the start of the dry season.

June is also the start of the dry season for Galapagos Islands, and is a bit cooler.

Do you have to go in June? It rules out a lot of places. If you do, New Zealand would be perfect.

If not, Japan is a stunning destination, beautiful nature and culture, lovely wildlife which is respected. (There's a mountain at Arashiyama where monkeys roam wild and humans stand inside a cage where peanuts and fruit are sold, that the monkeys can come and ask for if they want, by approaching the cage.)

Where in Canada have you been - it’s a huge country so loads to see and do (I live in Montreal). The Maritimes are my favourite.

Canada was the first place that came to my mind. I know you’ve been before but it’s a massive place so how about a different part? I’ve heard Vancouver is nice.

Australia. Queensland, Witsunday islands.. heaven on earth

Costa Rica is great for 2 weeks, lots of wildlife / rainforest. It is the start of rainy season but about 24C and the rain tends to just occur c 4pm ish so you can start early and avoid it. Also rain improves the rainforest and its fun to watch a big downpour in the rainforest.

Also love Australia and around Cairns etc is great for Great Barrier Reef and wildlife (Atherton Tablelands / Daintree / Kuranda) but 2 weeks is very tight and 3 plus would be much better.

Borneo would be great too - Kinabatagan river for wildlife and Sepilok. Mauritius less good for wildlife but lovely beaches and scenery.

I went to Canada at the end of May, early June in in 2016, and Montreal was really hot and humid. We were really shocked.

We've been to Perth in June and that was fine. We travelled up to Kalbarri and Monkey Mia and it was warmer up there, but not uncomfortable.

We've also done Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia in June. Kuala Lumpur was really humid, Singapore a bit less so. Lombok was lovely but it did rain a bit. The Gili Islands were amazing (we went back last July for the day and it was a lot busier, but it was the 6 week holidays), Bali was lovely and warm without being really hot.

Vietnam has lovely beaches but I've only been in August and it was ridiculously hot, same for Cambodia (Koh Rong Samloem is lovely but will be destroyed soon by development. Japan and South Korea are lovely, but only been there in August and it was ridiculously hot there too, and may be hot in June.

Had a few day in Manila this year, but it was in July so really heavy rain. Not sure what the weather is like in June but the beaches in the Philippines look amazing. It wasn't the right time of year for us, but loads of people were telling us how great it was. It may be worth checking out what it's like in June :)

What’s your budget, makes a huge difference

A trip down the Queensland coast? It's winter but still warm and generally the weather is settled and sunny at that time of year.
