Ibiza weather in May??

I have a holiday booked for next year 9th - 16th May, Ibiza in Port Des Torrent. It is a family holiday, my eldest is 3 and my youngest will be 10 months when we go. I am a little worried that it might be too cold for such young children, especially going in the pool but I also don’t want it to be scorching hot.

Would I be best changing the dates to end of May, maybe June?

If anyone has been Ibiza early/ mid May, please let me know what the weather was like for you!

It could be warm or cool. Its definitely a risk (as is early June but less so). End of June is usually lovely.

Pools might be too cold to stay in for long for the kids. Love PDT, where are you staying? One of the holiday village pools is really deep, I can imagine that being way too cold.

I've been in May. It was lovely and warm during the day, slightly cooler in the evenings ( but not cold ). I think it's a great time of year to go, especially as it's not crazy busy then.

I think it’ll be too cold unless they heat the pools, but Spanish law means even heated they don’t warm it up massively (apparently it’s an environmentally friendly law?).

Last week of May is half term so I’d avoid if you can. June is generally lovely weather in Ibiza.

I've been a few times in May because I don't like it too hot.
You will find the sea and pools are cold.
The weather can vary from scorching hot to rain, although it seldom rains for long. Most evenings I would need a cardi or fleece if it's a cool wind.
Last year we went last week of May and had three sunny days with a cool wind and four hot days with one afternoon of torrential rain.

I think people are sometimes dishonest about their experience of poor or disappointing holiday weather

We went mid June this year and the weather was perfect. We didn’t have any rain although I’ve been for a week the school summer holidays and had 2 big rain storms.

It is too cold then to enjoy it properly for what you’re looking to get out of it.
It is a nice time to go for a weeks hiking or cycling but not for a beach holiday. Water will be cold. Middle of June onwards is great.

Moving the date by two or three weeks won't make a huge amount of difference. The weather will be really nice but not hit-hot, around 25° most days. The pools and sea will still be a bit chilly but you won't need to be in them "to cool down" as much because it won't be super-hot (and a 30cm deep toddler pool can warm up quite quickly in the day). I would take the reduced worry about sunburn over the water temperature — In my experience very young children don't spend much time in the water anyway.

We went to the same place last year. Which hotel are you staying in? Both the TUI hotels have access to the splash park/water slides. The pool there is childy friendly and not deep, so the water might be warmer. We went in August and it was way too hot. If I had a choice I'd opt for end of June or start of July.

If you're flexible as to when you can go, I'd look at June. Weather is less risky. Only thing is it'll probably be dearer than mid May.
