Hi everyone,

Looking for a bit of advice please.

We’re planning a few nights in the Dolomites, Italy next year. We’ll be flying into Venice and spending a night (or maybe two) there first.

We’re thinking of hiring a car, but if there’s an easier way to get there, I’d love to hear any tips.

We are looking to do 5 nights in total.

Also, any recommendations on the best areas to stay? It’ll just be two adults, no kids. Thanks so much!

Hi, after researching for what felt like an eternity I settled on staying in Ortesei. It was a great choice and gave easy access to Seceda & Alpe de Suisi. Also took the funicular to Rasciesa for more lovely views.
We visited Lago di Braies and back via the Gardena pass - stunning drive.

Book your hotel early - when I went there was only 2 hotels left for my dates! If I went again I would stay in either Cavallino Bianca hotel or ADLER spa hotel. But it’s very walkable so everywhere is pretty central.

The other location I was considering was Cortina, which is actually easier to get to from Venice, so this may work better for you.

Oh and yes, I think car is the best option. Especially if you are coming from Venice and travelling around.
