Luxury cruise from Southampton 2026

DumpedByText · 23/10/2025 22:36

We're looking for a luxury cruise from Southampton next July or August. There will be seven adults and my dad who is in his 80's doesn't want a huge ship.

We have quite large budget and we're happy to go in Europe.

Any suggestions and experience please.

I have done a search on your dates - for ships I think would fit your brief - obviously I haven't put in how many nights you want.

Celebrity do have some larger ships in their fleet so just be aware of that.

^ Edited the link for specifically July /August as it didn't stick the first time

and some don't return back to Southampton so just check that also.

Go on seascanner, or cruisecritic websites and put your filters in (ie when you want to go, from which point, what cabin type, who is having which package) and work from there. Then, understand what you are getting for your money, and read the reviews. If you are going in the middle of summer, then likely your passage will be calmish, but it is never a given.

Regent Seven Seas is a luxurious line and has a couple of Southampton round trips next summer including the below itinerary. Starts around £7kpp for an entry level cabin (which is still v luxurious), everything is included with RSS.

03-Aug Southampton, England
04-Aug Antwerp, Belgium
05-Aug Antwerp, Belgium
06-Aug Dunkerque, France
07-Aug Honfleur, France
08-Aug Saint Peter Port, Guernsey
09-Aug Cobh, Ireland
10-Aug Waterford, Ireland
11-Aug At Sea
12-Aug Southampton, England

ETA: ship has around 700 passengers so a small ship. And if you are sailing from Southampton, it's pretty much a given you will be sailing in Europe!

Have you looked at canard, the fjords look lovely

If you do Cunard, you would need to make sure it was 'Grill' class for luxury, the Britannia class isn't very luxurious. (Yes, people dress smartly but that doesn't= luxury)
