Eurocamps from Scotland

We are looking for a toddler friendly eurocamp where we can fly from Aberdeen, Glasgow or Edinburgh and not have too long a transfer.

Looking for any recommendations or tips - really want some great toddler pools/splash pads, close to a beach etc.

If you can fly to Venice or Treviso, there are some great campsites on the venetian riviera, Union Lido, Ca Savio etc. We did Union Lido when dd was 3 and had an excellent time - beach, pools, mini disco, lots of food choices.

Don’t underestimate the amount of stuff you need to take on Eurocamp holiday. Just search for a Eurocamp packing list on Mumsnet and you’ll see that it quickly adds up. One of the best trips we’ve done was taking our car on the Hull to Rotterdam ferry and then driving about 40 mins to Duinrell. It’s a fantastic site, not far from a flat sandy beach and not too far from Efteling either.

Duinrell is great for little ones and also easy to fly into Schipol and book a taxi transfer. We first went when our kids were 1.5, 4 and 10 and managed OK flying.

This year we went to camping fabulous just outside Rome. Flight from Edinburgh to Rome then 25 mins taxi transfer to the site.

Accommodation wise, book one with lounge furniture on the decking as it gives you an additional comfy seating area.

It's been many years since we went but I'd love to go back to this one.
I agree with PP, make sure you book a decking with an awning. It's lovely to have the extra personal space.
It's a big site so hire bikes. It's a short cycle to the water taxis over to the islands and cycling around the lagoons is beautiful.

We did Duinrell last year, we booked directly with them as their accomodation was nicer than the eurocamps on the same site and we got more swimming passes included with them.

Fly to Schiphol and get a taxi from there, we pre-booked this with local firm recommended on Duinrell Facebook group. I believe Duinrell also do a bus transfer from Schiphol now too, run by the same taxi company.

We flew with KLM as 10kg each included, plus food and drinks on the flight ended up marginally cheaper than easyjet.
Spent a day in Amsterdam on the way home which I would recommend doing.
