A friend and I are thinking of having a weekend in Dublin 7-10 August wihout the kids, just hitting a few bars Need some cheap accomodation and cannot find any, needs to be a twin or double room (no hostels) pref 300 Euros or under.

Can anyone help?

Also where should we head? And what is good to do during the day?

Try Comfort Inn on Parnell Street, 5 minute walk from airport bus-stops and nice, bar for pre-night out drinks, easily staggerable home from Temple bar etc. Clean, comfortable, cheap

We stayed there last year for much the same sort of thing
more info here

There was a right mixed old bag of reviews on some websites but we had no problems and was absolutely fine for the money - we booked through Last Minute dot com and paid £125 for 2 people 2 nights.

try rollercoaster.ie - the irish parenting site. Temple bar hotel (in temple bar!) does deals for dbb for about 230 euro each I think. It looked nice when I was looking a while ago....

In terms of what to do or see. Probably a walking or sightseeing tour to give you a taste and then hit the Guiness...? Temple bar is very busy at night and parties till late. (so my daughter tells me!!) so take care too!! (oh I'm such a mum - what happened to me? sorry)
