We're looking to go in February. What's the location like? Easy to get around? Amenities etc nearby? Plenty to see/do in the nearby areas? Thanks :)

I used to live nearby but never been inside it.
It is between Benalmadena and Fuengirola and will need transport or use the local bus to go anywhere. The bus stop is outside the hotel. About 30 min walk to Benalmadena.

No but I’ve been to the sister hotel next door. I’d avoid at all costs! The food was dreadful and as the hotel is so far out it isn’t easy to eat elsewhere.

Fine if you want to stay on site , its basic food but what you expect from an all inclusive family resort .
There was a small little beach that was walkable but to be able to explore you do have to catch the bus which was super easy to do .

Very much in neither Benalmadena nor Fuengirolarola, and far out for both. Have stayed at the sunset beach club which I would say was right at the edge of Benalmadena for walking, was great and near plenty of amenities, restaurants etc. didn't each there though.

Thar hotel is between Benalmadena and Fuengirola and may be a bit isolated, and you are unlikely to want to use the pools in February. Public transport in the area is generally good and you are around 10 mins walk from bus stop, but I have no idea how many buses will be running actually past your hotel area. You are about 20 minutes walk to the nearest beach and further to the nearest station on the coastal Trainline. It’s quite easy to get an uber but may be expensive if you are travelling out and back each day. Your hotel may offer a courtesy bus but not sure whether it would run in February.

Is this for a family holiday? I’m trying to think what is likely to be open in February, there is a butterfly park and crocodile park in the vicinity and a castle looking down over the coast, plus a small fair usually in Fuengirola, a mini golf just outside of Fuengirola (I think the Benalmadena one is closed in Feb), a sea life centre at the marina in Benalmadena, plus boat rides although I’m not sure if they are operational in February., and a big wheel. There are various beaches all along the coast Fuengirola to Torremolinos and often there are climbing frames etc on the beach. None of these places would be in walking distance though. I’ve visited this general area a few times in February and my experience is that things tend to open up is the weather is good, but not so much if it’s cool and rainy.

I would recommend a trip into Malaga and to Mijas.

My holidays to that area are as an adult looking for a bit of winter sun without a long flight, and I imagine my needs are different to yours. We stay central in Torremolinos and use local transport, particularly the train to visit inland towns, alternating with a day strolling along the seafront.

We went to the one next door (shares the splash park bit) in April a few years ago. Honestly I think the pool will be far too cold to use in February, April was just about OK. The splash park will be closed, if that was of interest to you. Its not really in Benalmadena as such, its between there and Fuengirola and there’s very little immediately nearby, even the basic local shop was a fair walk when we were there. There are buses to get you to either of the two towns where there are more things to do
