Budget of £750 not including flights - where would you go?

I have a rough budget of £750 for accommodation and food for up to 10 nights stay for one. Flights are a gift from parents, to anywhere in the world.

Where would you go? Need to travel in November.

That's a wonderful present, but I'm struggling to think of anywhere you could stay & eat for that budget - unless you're backpacking ?

Thelondonone · 10/10/2025 17:28

I think you can only afford to go for 5 nights max. even a hostel will £30 a night even in cheap places. £100 a day on food and activities.

CryMyEyesViolet · 10/10/2025 17:29

It’d need to be East Asia / Thailand / Vietnam / Indonesia etc where the cost of living is dirt cheap, and even then I think you can only afford 5-7 days.

Soontobe60 · 10/10/2025 17:31

I’d be asking my parents for a cheap flight and contribution to your accommodation budget! Flights to, say Thailand in November would be high as it’s their mid season but you could get accommodation within your budget (basic), whereas flights to Tunisian would be far cheaper so you’d get a decent hotel if they supplemented it.

LuckyNumberFive · 10/10/2025 17:31

I'd do a 7 night cruise from Southampton with P&O. It'll include all your food.

Favouritefruits · 10/10/2025 17:40

I don’t think it’s going to stretch to 10 nights, that would be a hotel at £75 a night 😬 do you want it to include food or room only? You might get something ok in the canaries off peak

hincliffe · 10/10/2025 17:48

Okay maybe I was being a bit optimistic. What about £750 without food?

You want to know where in the world you can get 10 nights accommodation for £750? Erm…most places. Is your Expedia broken?

CountryQueen · 10/10/2025 18:55

Ok, I mentioned a booking site not to be mentioned.

but my answer was erm, almost anywhere in the world. Where do you want to go?!

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 11/10/2025 22:34

What area would you fancy going to OP? As long as you’re not expecting Five Star I’m not sure that this will be the problem that other posters are suggesting.

Florencesndzebedee · 12/10/2025 00:24

Asia, South Africa, India would be good places for cheaper accommodation at a reasonable standard and cheaper food. Or join a cruise in the med or Italy. Everything’s included once on board.

Florencesndzebedee · 12/10/2025 00:24

Africa too of course.

FeistyFrankie · 12/10/2025 00:52

Have a look at places like Romania, Albania, Slovakia, or Latvia. Your money will go very far, and they have some spectacular landscapes. Food is cheap and flights very reasonable too. You can easily do 10 nights in one of those countries.

SpringingOn · 12/10/2025 08:21

My son stayed in a hostel in Florence for 15 euros a night so I think if you are backpacking there are lots of options.

In November I think I would go to India or North Africa

angelcake20 · 14/10/2025 11:34

Where do you want to see? That has to be most important. Do you want sun, history, landscape? Are you happy to stay in a hostel? South Africa is strangely cheap if you want decent accommodation and food. Canaries if you just want to chill. Most of Europe’s a bit damp and chilly at that time of year but perhaps you love museums and galleries. Staying a bit outside big cities is often much cheaper - check out the public transport maps.
